'Stand Up' Rallies Set to Protest Birth Control Mandate

Tens of thousand of Americans are expected to take action this Friday to draw attention to the Obama administration's controversial birth control mandate.

Participants in more than 150 cities across the nation will attend the Stand Up rallies. The events are sponsored by the Stand Up for Religious Freedom Rallies Coalition.

Eric Scheidler, co-director of the group, wants Americans to protest the new health care mandate that would require employers to provide access to free contraception, including the Plan B pill some feel is an abortion-inducing drug.

"We've heard a lot about this mandate and there has been a lot of spin coming from the White House and a lot of misinformation from the mainstream media," Scheidler told CBN News

"But regular Americans are getting the story," he continued. "That there is something wrong with this policy and it needs to be changed. And they're grateful for the opportunity to take to streets in the very public expression of the role of faith in the public square."
