Michele Bachmann Running for Reelection
Michele Bachmann is running for political office again.
Although the Republican conservative bowed out of the 2012 presidential race after the Iowa caucus, she filed for reelection to the 6th Congressional District in Minnesota on Monday.
Bachmann will run for her fourth term in Congress as a leader of conservative and common-sense solutions.
"Minnesotans see the slow recovery and sustained unemployment and they worry their children and grandchildren will never achieve the American Dream of independence,” Bachmann said. “The voters have said the economy is the number one issue of this election and they understand failed policies to spend our way out of this recession are simply not working.”
As she sees it, Minnesotans are ready for leadership that can create jobs, lower taxes and reduce government involvement in our businesses—and everyone is ready for America to get back to work, back to liberty and back to prosperity.
“From large projects like the St. Croix Bridge to personal issues like foster care, the sixth district has been my home for 40 years,” she said, “and I will continue to serve my constituents on the issues that matter to them."
Bachmann is running in the sixth district that covers all of Benton, Sherburne and parts of Anoka, Carver, Stearns, Washington and Wright counties.
Bachman made history in Texas last week when she became only the second female candidate to win a GOP delegate—and the first in almost 50 years.
