Decisions & Consequences

Decisions & Consequences

We all in our everyday lives have to make decisions and our decisions always have consequences. We decide what we are going to wear, eat, and where we are going to go. Many of our decisions have very little effect on others as well as ourselves, while other decisions result in unexpected joy and happiness, then some bring great disappointment and heartache. We are often called on to make major decisions whether it involves religion, relocation due to job requirements, life and death matters, or divorce. Regardless whether are decisions are good or bad our choices have some type of consequence.

If you look at some of the people in the Bible and their decisions you will find that many of them whether good or bad, had lifelong consequences. For instance take Adam and Eve who ate the forbidden fruit. By doing so the consequence of this bad decision the world became knowledgeable of sin, they were banned from Eden and became exposed to pain and death.

Then we have Noah, who was considered righteous by God, decisions always have consequencesto build the ark. He became the subject of much ridicule and mockery. Nevertheless he continued to follow the Lord's directions and the result or consequence of his decision to do so was that Noah saved mankind.

Mary chose to follow the Lord's request to be used by God for the birth of His Son and Joseph's decision to marry her anyway through the guidance of an Angel in a dream. Otherwise Mary could have been stoned by Jewish law. I am not sure the Lord would have allowed that but her decision and Joseph's decision brought for the most important consequence of mankind, the birth of our Saviour, Jesus Christ. You also have Juda's betrayal for money which the consequence was his committing suicide. Finally you have Saul, who was a judge, jury, and executioner of Christians, was visited by the Lord, then repented, obeyed, and was baptized and became the Apostle for the Gentiles. The consequence of his decision that we as non-Jewish people received the Good News of the Gospel as was our advocate before the council in Jerusalem.

So you see the consequences of our decisions can be far reaching so I ask you (and me) to consider a few things. We need to be honest in all things including our business, family and spiritual life. Be faithful to our self and family. Give thanks to God for all things, control our mind, eyes, and tongue. I think above all, humble ourselves and obey God's commands so we can be reconciled to Him. Amen!

God Bless You All To Him with all the Praise and Glory,
