MUMBAI, INDIA (ANS) -- The Indian Rescue Mission (IRM), an organization that works for the rescue of minor girls from forced prostitution and provides them with justice and rehabilitation, has joined with Mumbai Police and a social activist to rescue 24 girls from a posh brothel in Mumbai, India.

Mumbai Police and the Indian Rescue Mission, acting on information given by a well-known social activist and preventive Officer in Customs, Mr. Anson Thomas, an achiever of THE HERO award for his work in combating human trafficking by a television channel, raided the brothel, which is located in the costliest “red light” area called The Congress House in the Indian city.
Many of the rescued girls were minors.
A decoy customer was sent to the brothel a few minutes before the raid and shortly afterwards, the raiding team stormed the brothel and arrested the brothel keeper and the manager and rescued 24 girls kept in her custody and who had been forced into prostitution.
This brothel keeper had been arrested twice previously by Mr. Anson Thomas for keeping minor girls in prostitution and was convicted for three years of rigorous imprisonment, but it is alleged that she used her influence and power of money to come out of jail and then continued with the same flesh trade, which according to the law is a big crime.
This rescue brought joy and peace and reestablished the lives of these 24 girls by rescuing them from this terrible life and it also helped social activist Anson Thomas in arresting a repeat offender to his previous cases in which this brothel keeper was the accused and to prove to the court about her shameless character.
Please pray for these rescued 24 girls and the other ones we have rescued so far.
The team members who were part of the raid to rescue the girls will personally appear before the court to testify against the brothel keeper and the manager.
As a leader of the Indian Rescue Mission, I am glad to report that we were able to rescue these girls from their terrible life at the brothel and from the perpetrators who harass them and play with their innocent lives and hence provide these innocent girls with justice.
Once the girls had been rescued, according to government rules, they have to be sent to the government protective homes and then later, after filing an application by organizations interested in taking these girls, they can get them transferred to their after-care homes.
The Indian Rescue Mission coordinates with other organizations to provide them rehabilitation and take care of their expenses for the rehabilitation.
