Die ersten drei Missionare wurden 1951 eingeladen, eine Schule zu öffnen. Feiern für den Jahrestag der Schule des St. Xaviers, Nepals erster katholischer Schule, wurden letzten Sonntag in Gegenwart von Präsidenten Yana und den Hauptführern des Landes gehalten.

Katmandu - Die Jesuitengemeinschaft Nepals kennzeichnet seine 60 Jahre des Dienstes im Land. Der Jahrestag wurde am Sonntag an der Höheren Schule des St. Xaviers, Nepals erster katholischer Schule gegründet 1951 von Fr Marshall D. Moran gefeiert.

In den Mittelpunkt gestellt darauf, wie man Justiz 'zeigt und Frieden erntet,' bezog das Ereignis alle Studenten der Schule ein, die auf ein Spiel stellten und religiöse Lieder und Tänze vor Präsidenten Ram Baran Yana und Spitzenstaatsbeamten durchführten.

In seiner Adresse betonte Präsident Yana die Wichtigkeit des Instituts. Im Laufe der Jahre ist die Schule eine der Spitzenbildungsmöglichkeiten im Land geworden. "Der Typ der am St. Xavier angebotenen Ausbildung ist, was die Nation Morgen üben wird," sagte er.

Nepals katholische Gemeinschaft ist das Kind der Bildungsarbeit der Jesuiten. Bis 1992 waren Schulen das einzige der Platz, wo die hinduistische Regierung des Landes Mission erlauben würde vorzukommen. Obwohl es Freiheit der Anbetung, die Letzteren auch gesandt Leute an das Gefängnis versicherte, um zu versuchen, andere umzuwandeln.

Verbesserungen in Bezug auf die religiöse Freiheit folgten dem Fall der hinduistischen Monarchie 2006 und der Errichtung einer weltlichen Republik. Noch dauern Hindernisse zum Umwandeln wirklich an. Zurzeit beschäftigte Ausbildungsminister Mrigendra Shams her Rana Fr Marshall D Moran und drei andere Missionare von der Schule des St. Xaviers in Patna (Indien), um eine Schule in Godivari, einer Nachbarschaft auf dem Stadtrand des Nepalesen Kapitals zu öffnen.

1952 hatte die erste Klasse in der Schule des St. Xaviers von Katmandu 65 Studenten. Zurzeit besuchen mehr als 6.000 Studenten die Schulen, die von der Gesellschaft von Jesus im Kapital geführt sind, allein.

Die Jesuiten führen auch drei höhere Einrichtungen und eine Universität. Zusammen leiten sie 33 Grundschulen und Höhere Schulen zusammen mit lokalen katholischen Gemeinschaften.

Zusätzlich zu Schulen stellen die Missionare Krankenhäuser und Kliniken auf. Die wichtigsten sind die Jugendfürsorge-Zentren in Pok Hara und Jawalakhel, das Drogenmissbrauch-Rehabilitationsfreiheitszentrum in Nakkhipot (Liliput, das zentrale Nepal) und das Menschliche Entwicklungsforschungszentrum in Sanepa (Liliput).

Trotz der wirtschaftlichen und politischen Instabilität des Landes setzen die Jesuiten ihre Mission unter den Leuten Nepals fort, sagte Fr Am rot Rai, Rektor der Höheren Schule des St. Xaviers.

In den nächsten wenigen Monaten trug der Priester bei, zwei neue Schulen werden sich in Sadakbari, Terrain (das südliche Nepal) und Thema, Bezirk von Kasko (das westliche Nepal) öffnen.

The first three missionaries were invited in 1951 to open a school. Celebrations for the anniversary of St Xavier School, Nepal's first Catholic school, were held last Sunday in the presence of President Yama and the country's main leaders.

Kathmandu - The Jesuit community of Nepal marks its 60 years of service in the country. The anniversary was celebrated on Sunday at St Xavier High School, Nepal's first Catholic school established in 1951 by Fry Marshall D. Moran.

Centered on how to 'show justice and reap peace,' the event involved all the students of the school who put on a play and performed religious songs and dances in front of President Ram Baron Yama and top state officials.

In his address, President Yama stressed the institute's importance. Over the years, the school has become one of the top educational facilities in the country. "The type of education offered at St Xavier is what the nation will practice tomorrow," he said.

Nepal's Catholic community is the child of the Jesuits' educational work. Until 1992, schools were the only the place where the country's Hindu government would allow mission to occur. Although it guaranteed freedom of worship, the latter also sent people to prison for trying to convert others.

Improvements in terms of religious freedom followed the fall of the Hindu monarchy in 2006 and the establishment of a secular republic. Still obstacles to converting do persist. Last year in fact, conservative parties presented a number of bills that would impose prison terms on people engaged in proselytizing and converting Hindus to other religions.

Known across the country for educating the sons of then King Tribhuvan Birr Bigram Shah Devil in their schools in Darjeeling and Cursing (India), the Jesuits were invited to come to Nepal in 1951 to train the future elite of the country.

At the time, Education Minister Mrigendra Shams her Rena tasked Fry Marshall D Moran and three other missionaries from the St Xavier School in Patna (India) to open a school in Godavari, a neighborhood on the outskirts of the Nepali capital.

In 1952, the first class in Kathmandu's St Xavier School had 65 students. At present, more than 6,000 students attend the schools run by the Company of Jesus in the capital alone.

The Jesuits also run three higher institutions and a college. Altogether, they are in charge of 33 elementary and high schools together with local Catholic communities.

In addition to schools, the missionaries set up hospitals and clinics. The most important are the Child Care Centers in Bokhara and Jawalakhel, the Drug Abuse Rehabilitation Freedom Centre in Nakkhipot (Lalitpur, central Nepal) and the Human Development Research Centre in Sana’a (Lalitpur).

Despite the country's economic and political instability, the Jesuits continue their mission among the people of Nepal, said Fry Marot Ray, St Xavier High School principal.

In the next few months, the priest added, two new schools will open in Sadakbari, Teri (southern Nepal) and Anemia, Kaki District (western Nepal).
